I had a lot to clear from this lifetime in my eyes. So my eyes went back to 20/22 just like they were when I was a teenager.
Here are 2 interesting things that happened before and after your show.
    1. I went to work and I was sitting in my car reading with my SUN GLASSES on!!!(before)
Now, I am thinking the reading glasses may be some way for me to hide!!!(my soul)
    2. I received my bank statement and funny thing , I needed to put my glasses back on to read it.
Just a little resistance to seeing the bottom line?
    3. I really enjoyed your show and have tapped away lots of things I had seen in the past.

    Hi Rachel & Judy,

    Thanks for your comments!

Judy, that is very interesting…needing to wear your glasses when looking at your bank statement! LOL!
That would be a good time to tap…whenever you notice your vision becoming blurry or when you feel the “need” or urge to reach for your glasses.
Thanks for your input. I will add your insights to the notes when i update them.

    Aloha,

    Hi Maria and Margaret,

    Thank you for your comments!

Yes, Margaret, please do keep me posted about your improvements.

Maria, I understand your concern, but I don’t think that having cataracts in both eyes creates any special problems. Your body created the cataracts and your body can digest them. Things come and go.

You could use your words as a tapping statement and play around with it…see if it applies to any other area of your life or thought processes. I’m just making these statements up as an example:
    “Even though…
*I think having cataracts may create a special problem….
*I wonder if I have special problems that can’t be overcome…
    * Sometimes I feel like I am a special problem…
    * I feel that I may have special problems that can’t be helped…
OR whatever comes to mind for you. Start there. Just try some statements on for size and see if any of them bring relief or trigger other thoughts. Follow your thoughts and beliefs with tapping.

Here are two articles I found that contain info about using EFT for eyesight:
“I have been recently diagnosed with cataracts and since I have
been tapping I “see” a definite improvement in my vision. … ”
    http://www.emofree.com/Pain-management/20painarticles.htm

RESEARCH QUESTION: Is it possible for a person with a vision problem to
improve their eyesight by using Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)?
Based on the results recorded below, the answer appears to be a
    resounding yes!!

Eleanore, I’ve listened to the EFT/Eyesight twice now and am trying to
get my wife to listen and tap. I’ve only been wearing glasses for about 5 yrs.
and I’m 53. The last week or so, I’ve been doing more and more driving
as well as other things without my glasses. I only need the glasses to read at a distance.
This is only since I’ve listened to your show. The 1st time I listened, i tapped along with you and my eyes felt so much less tension and tiredness, afterwards, that I was able to stay on the PC and work, until 3am. This was after having only 3 hrs. of sleep the night before and my eyes had been so heavy and burning, until I tapped with you.

I also have had a “mild” case of Tourettes Syndrome, since about 10 yrs. old, in which I now collect a SSD income due to TS. I’ve been working with an EFT practioner, nearby, for about 1 yr. though I do not make every Borrowing Benefits class on Wed. evening.
I’ve many issues, it seems, although I think…or I’ve recently discovered that my biggest issue has been and still is, that of being unhappy with myself and unaccepting of this condition, as I’ve searched the last 40 yrs. for “something” to help or cure me.

I think once I “come out” so to speak, I’ll have accepted this and maybe…just maybe..my vision will clear since I’ve spent many years not wanting to SEE myself twitching the rest of my life.
Sorry for the long post, I have alot I wanted/needed to say and I thank you for reading and listening.
    Sincerely,
    John

I listened to the webcast on my iPod while jogging, then did the tapping while sitting on a bench in a park where I always end my workouts. I have not been able to read the print on my iPod, without glasses, ever. After tapping, I was able to read the tiny letters, not perfectly clearly, but clearly enough to know what they said, something I have NOT been able to do before. I love EFT!! The benefit did not stay with me, but I recognize that with some retrospect and more tapping, that will change.

    Dear Eleanore,
Thanks a lot for your notes, them make fascinating reading!
I too gave up on my glasses about 3 years ago. I was broke and could not afford renewing my prescription so I was using an old pair of glasses (since my current prescription glasses were broken). And I realised I was not worse off. So I decided one day to ditch the glasses all together.
First, it was a bit scary and I had to tap about the fear. (I was shortsighted and needed glasses to drive and to read writings on the TV). I also realised that I was squinting quite a lot trying to see. So I tapped on relaxing my eyes and being confident that I can see perfectly.
After that first level of tapping I realised where it came from: when I was 24 (I am now 40) I worked on the computer 24/7 for over a year. So I tapped on the fact that I had damaged my eyes looking at the screen.
My eyesight has improved and I am no longer scared and I can drive (althought it is more difficult at night – still some more tapping to do here).
However, it is only after reading your book that it “clicked” with me that I had another core issue to tap on: “All translators become blind as a bat because they work so hard on the computer” and “To succeed as a translator, I have to go blind and wear glasses” and “only once I wear glasses will I have succeeded truly as a professional translator”. I tapped on these and felt much better.

I have never had my eyes checked since I gave up the glasses but I am confident that my eyesight is getting better and better each day.

Anyway, thanks a lot for your book. It has helped me quite a lot on my journey to acheiving perfect eyesight.

    Hi Eleanore,
Update: I’ve been driving during the day w/out my glasses and sometimes at night. last night, as I was reading, I noticed that I was not only seeing more clearly as I read, but also that I was holding the book at a normal distance ( for me ) and NOT just inches from my face.
I’ve also noticed that when I start getting a bit anxious/upset trhat my right eye ( the one that has the “stigmatism and is very blurry at times ) gets blurry again so I just tap to relax myself and my eyes, using your statement of my eyes are relaxed and I see clearly. Once I calm down, the blurriness is almost completely, if not completely, gone.
Thank you. I look forward to more of your interviews and tapping lessons.

    Sincerely,
    John

    Aloha Eleanore!

A big thank you for sharing your wonderful and concise work!! I am not a therapist; just someone interested in and drawn to energy healing and various alternative healing modalites for myself and others who cross my path.

Very, very helpful was your suggestion to think back to what was occuring in ones life at the time when the situation/condition first showed up, which pretty much amounted to an epiphany for me. I developed/manifested blepharitis ~ an uncomfortable and painful eyelid condition, symptoms being dry eyes, burning, stinging, etc. Of late, I’ve been susceptable to frequent eye infections that have been resistant to medication. Thanks to your work, I can identify that this all began during some very trying and traumatic events some ten years + years ago, and yes, most probably things I’m guessing that my eyes are telling me that these things were painful to look at.

Even though I’ve worked through these situations and moved on in my life, these symtoms have been ongoing ever since, so I’m assuming the ‘disruption in the energy system’ still exists :)

I especially found helpful the idea of journalling and that you included a wide array of emotions from which to choose. I have begun journalling about these events; including the emotions I felt at that time.

Question: These events evoked quite an array of emotions, which I’ve identified and named. How would you suggest I tap on them since there are so, so many. I’m thinking to go over them all, naming each one, and tapping on them collectively instead of individually ~ really getting into it ~ at the KC point; then tapping along the other points from there. Or perhaps I could to the “Movie” technique. Not sure how to proceed from here. Any suggestions?

Once again, a big thank you for making this fabulous resource available. Besides improving eyesight and/or ocular health, I can see that this information can be tweaked to fit into just about anything!

    Hi Marilyn,

Congratulations on caring for yourself and treating yourself with respect!
    That is beautiful!

I think both of your ideas are good ones.
It might be simpler to tap while you are telling the story with all the details, because contained within the memory of the events and the telling of the story…are your feelings.

I think it is wonderful that you have named the feelings…but even if you were not able to do that, your unconscious knows what is bothering you. So long as when you are tapping you are tuned in to the feeling and memories, or the sensation that it creates in your body you will begin to get relief.

There is no hurry…take your time and tap a little bit every day. You can not rush it. Each piece will be uncovered in time as you pay attention to what is the next step right in front of you. Gentle…easing…into letting go.

    Aloha,
    Eleanore

Thank you very much for your input and suggestions ~ especially how to keep it simple, tap a little bit at a time, but to be persistant. Very helpful!

** Another question: Will tapping on the incidents alone be enough, or should I be mentioning things about the condition of my eyes and how they feel … i.e. the irritation, soreness, holding emotions in my eyes, etc.

For sure, I will be tapping on the fact that doctors tell me this condition is chronic, no cure, will have it the rest of my life, live with it. While I respect that this may be a truth in THEIR world ~ and God Bless them ~ we know we do not need to buy into their beliefs, because in the world of energy anything is possible. . . tap! tap! tap! ;)

    Hi Marilyn,

Tap on whatever is bothering you…whatever is on your mind. With the tapping you are clearing the energy disruption. These are thoughts which you don’t feel at ease with, they bother you, worry you, may make you feel uncomfortable.

I think persistence and consistency are more important than what you say.
Remember you can also tap in your positive affrimations and blessings for your eyes.

    Aloha,
    Eleanore

Very interesting ideas represented here. I started doing the journaling and many thoughts came up that I haven’t pondered before, especially about seeing disturbing things and how I constantly tell our children not to look at certain things. I tend to think that images will stick in their minds like they to do me, but that might not be true for everybody! And this reinforces the importance of looking at beautiful things rather than ugly, destructive, false things the media people try to bury us with.

    Hi Eleanor,
I started my day at this “comments” about eyesight improvement. I got to where you were addressing comments to Margaret and Maria. Such fear & anxiety came up I had to leave the computer. Did a little clutter clearing, sat down with my coffee and still wasn’t calmed down. I think I am terrified EFT won’t/will work for me. I took a beginners class many years ago from a guy named John Freedom. The experience was distasteful. However, I kept coming back to it. Found Gary’s site and enjoyed hearing other’s successes. I tried many, many times to use it on myself without much success. I finally figured that I was just to far gone to be helped. I still received Gary’s newsletter though I quit reading it. I just stored them away. So..something in me believes in EFT and is hanging in there by her fingernails. Awhile back I signed up for your Eyesight stuff. I received it but haven’t had the nerve to open any of it up.
My daughter was/is experiencing some really bad problems so I went online and found Alina Frank. I am sponsoring my daughter to work with Alina. I am trying to get up the courage to do the same for myself. By the way I am almost 74 and still want to have a quality life before I kick the bucket. Maybe now that I have confessed my dragging feet to you I can get myself over the hump and go back and start the eyesite stuff. Thanks for listening. Sandra

    Hi Eleanor,

I „somehow found” the recording of your eyesight-teleclass and I listened to it this morning when I was driving to visit my parents. It was a 2 hours’ ride with some traffic jam so I had enough time to think about the things you said. I couldn’t wait to return to my home in order to write down some of the AHAs that came into my mind – I am 54 and exactly since my 40th birthday I have to wear reading glasses (as predicted within my family! By now it’s +3.5 diopt., but I use them only for reading and for the computer) and I somehow like the “helplessness” without my glasses, I forget quite often where I put them and love to “amuse” my surroundings with that (while normally it’s me who is the strong one taking care of the others, as eldest sister of 5 siblings) … things I never thought about before! Once I was with my parents I had other things to worry about, so I forgot my eyesight-insights (love this expression!).

And you know what? When I was nearly back home again, riding the well-known street through the forest which is my everyday way to work, I suddenly remembered your advice “Give your eyes something lovely to look at” – the trees on that road definitely ARE lovely to look at, but I barely recognize it (except when they are so beautifully covered with snow in winter or when they are wearing that stunning fresh light green in early spring). And I started looking at the trees with the intention to give my eyes something beautiful to look at – and in that very moment my sight improved magically, I could recognize nearly every single leaf, the trees and their branches suddenly looked three-dimensional whereas normally I see them only as one single green pattern (don’t know how to describe it better). It was as if I had put on some very effective glasses with the exact right acuity. AND my eyes felt so relaxed! WOW!!! I tried it over and over again, back in my garden, looking at the flowers, the garden pond, even the dog – as soon as I had the intention to look at something beautiful my eyes relaxed and I could see a very sharp 3-D-picture, better than with any glasses I could imagine (it didn’t work with my computer though…)!

Be sure I WILL be doing my homework on memories, beliefs and traumas concerning my eyes (and my father’s and my grandfather’s and every one else’s I remember having contributed to my beliefs about my eyesight)), journaling and tapping and tapping and journaling… I am going to get rid of my glasses very soon!

Thank you so very much for sharing your story and your experiences whit me and for giving so many hints to think about my relationship with my eyes and with seeing what is around me!

Thanks a lot and best wishes from beautiful summerly Germany!

    Hi Roswitha,
What a lovely description of relaxing your eyes by enjoying a beautiful sight! Looking at plants and specifically leaves, with all their intricate veins, are a great way to practice seeing more clearly. Thank you so much for posting about your experience.
    Aloha,
    Eleanore

    Hi Sandra,
Thank you for taking the time to write your comments. I've had a bit of a tech problem accessing the comments and am just now posting my reply. I hope you have given EFT a try again and have received a session with Alina for yourself.
    You deserve it!
    Aloha,
    Eleanore

Yes, you make some good points, Tiffany. Images that may be disturbing to one person, may not have the same effect on another. I think our feelings, thoughts, our interpretation and reactions to what we see has more of an effect on us than the actual sight.
Thank you for sharing your comments.
    Aloha,

I received your vision kit through livingenegysecrets. In there as well as above, you mention a pdf on your suggestions for how to use EFT tapping to improve your eyesight. The kit says it is downloadable but I have no idea where to find this pdf. Can you tell me where I can find this pdf? Thanks

I sent you an email a few months ago and I’m just checking to see that you opened the pdf and were able to read it. Please let me know if you need any help.

    Hi, Eleanore,
I recently discovered your podcasts, and have been listening and tapping almost constantly. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your work, and have been amazed at how many of the shows apply to issues that I’m working on. I listened to the eyesight improvement today, and wanted to tell you my story, so far…

I’d been listening to Gene Monterastelli at TappingQandA on all sorts of topics, and through him found my way to blogtalkradio. So, I was out for a walk one day, listening to a podcast about something quite unrelated to vision, and the strangest thing happened.

I’ve had vision problems for most of my life, and couldn’t imagine ever getting out of bed without putting my glasses on first, so you’ll understand how big this was for me.

As I got out of the car to start my walk, I had decided I should try my new sunglasses as it was very bright. I’ve never worn sunglasses because I don’t like the feeling of being blocked from the light, but I had decided that I should protect my eyes. I took my regular glasses off, and put the sunglasses on, and had a tremendous experience! As I walked down the path, I thought “well, I’ve got my back to the sun, I should see how much these glasses change the way I see”. I put them on top of my head, and continued walking. As I walked I realized that this was the first time in 32 years that I had attempted to do anything at all without my glasses!
I marvelled at this, and found tapping statements running through my mind, so I began to tap, first on the gratitude that I was feeling, and on the wonder and amazement that I actually could see a great deal more than I would ever have imagined I could. I was so excited, and was swept away by the beauty around me – I could actually see birds, and the glint of light off the river, and clouds agains the brilliant blue sky. I could make out signs in the distance, and felt quite confident in where I was putting my feet, and as I tapped a memory of my complete panic when I had broken my glasses one day popped up. I continued tapping, trying to bring down the intensity of the fear, and after a couple rounds of tapping I realized that the fear of not having my glasses was actually far greater than the actual limitations of my vision. I completed the whole hour-long walk, tapping and learning and recognizing things that were connected to my vision, and only put the sunglasses back on when I was facing directly into the sun and it was becoming very uncomfortable (and when I needed to drive!).
It was one of the most freeing experiences of my life, and I am continuing to tap on this. Hearing your podcast on the topic was so clear, so relevant and so exciting! Thank you so much, and I’ll be sending a bunch of people to your show, classes and site.
    Yours in wonderment,
    Trisha
